You want performance?
Oh you wanted luxury?
Or cheap, practical, yet sporty?
Need utility?
Damn, I just love where I live. Long live Detroit!

I love Murica just as much as the next Murican. But luxury really isn't our thing. We sell some damn nice cars and trucks, but $100k+ luxo barges? Not so much.

We all want Japanese kei trucks.

Oh, we do luxury better than anyone else, but not in cars

That's the exact color ZO6 I saw yesterday. Looked and sounded amazing. Plastic lawn edging notwithstanding.

There's no american car still in production I would take over an S class. $100k? naw. But $50-75k? Well between AMG and 'Murica, only one of them is going to give me both a supercharged V8 and three pedals to go with it, so...

That's a Chrysler 200, not a luxury car.

There's no viper to go with the 'Vette! I'll rectify that!

counted cars that were engineered, built or started life overseas:
4 of 12.
Not complaining, yes pointing it out.
200/Dart = Alfa Romeo chassis
Sonic = Korean*
Fiesta = Part Mazda part Ford UK
*While the original Gamma was developed with Opel, Gamma II is under the leadership of GM Korea (formally GM Daeweoo). Gamma II first launched with the 2010 Chevrolet Spark, and has since spawned the Chevrolet Sonic (Aveo), Opel Corsa, Opel Adam, and several other subcompact vehicles. GM eventually wants all small (A and B-class) vehicles to be on the Gamma II architecture.
One could also argue that the Challanger has German ancestry (LC = shortened LX = Mercedes suspension, floor pan and firewall.)

No worries. Many of our great achievements had Euro influence.

A key part of being 'Murrican is the ability to go "FULL MURRICA" without doing any fact checking.

In theory, yes, but so many Americans come from elsewhere, I think these cars are just that much more American for it!

@Milky
US doesn't need waste time to build a Rolls Royce type of car to put up farces & make magazine articles to remind you of vehicles the masses can't afford.
What better time than now to put in time to get your US performance. The corvette folks of the world finally get the corvette that looks the part of racer and has the tech to back it up. You can wave to the Porsche owner as you ride right with them.
What else needs to be said for the Camaro, Mustang group? All their newest variants fixed and or improved while still being competitive in pricing? Proof? Just ask EU and JPN about the Camaro Z/28 and watch a single tear roll down their cheeks.
Lexus and BMW never got chastised for putting V-10's in their cars. Thats fine. The Viper is doing exactly what Porsche is doing and shame on car fans that spout nonsense at a car that you NEEDED back then before BMW and Lexus. Everyone complained about lack of high end performance in the US before the Viper and complain about it now because they can't handle a car with an identity. Porsche Carrera GT, SLS AMG, and others in the 500HP club know who to really thank.

*cough* fiesta ST was designed by ford of Europe, and is built in Germany. *cough*

lol nope. That's not how the global economy works
Spoiler alert: That flag on your flagpole? Odds are it's made in china. it's about as American as Dim sum and Chow mein.

Jokes on you, I don't have a flag at my house. But the one at my dad's. Yeah that's made here.
